As Spain has no real federation there are many not organised clubs ... one of them is giving out CAT what stands for Catelonia i believe.

Offcourse this rider has to do some licence exam before he can participate. APC8 has arranged temporary insurance for them.

New racing system Eurocups 05-Feb-2007 13:15 Forum: Eurocup News

Here is the new way of racing for the Eurocups.

As we had several questions from riders about the racing way we had in 2006 we have diceded to alter the way of racing and make it more intresting for all the riders and give you all the abillity to qualify for the finals instead of just qualifying for each event and then be able to drive the final races.

The old system was that you drive 2-3 races in your group in an event and you where able to get into it's final's from that event and that score was counted for the overal finals. So if you missed an event you would have full points and you wasn't able anymore to get some serious results. So we have decided to change the way of racing so that every race you drive will count for 2 things: first of all your qualifying and only your qualifying races will count for the overall results no matter in wich group you are. So for example:

You race in the Netherlands in Team A and drive 3 qualifying races.
Your race in Germany in Team B and drive 4 qualifying races.
You race in France in Team A and drive 4 qualifying races.

This means you have raced 11 races and so you are able to wipe 2 bad races (as only per 4 races you may wipe one this will be automaticly done on your worst scores)

So in this way it doenst matter for the final results if you het into the final race of the current event or not.
The final race of the current event is only there to have an event winner and this will be done on the old way so only XX% of each class of each group will be able to qualify itself for the current event winner and there we will hold one or two races. So the best XX% of each class goes to the final event race and battle for the event winner in each class.

For clearaty attached an image where you can see the flow.

Update ! 13-Mar-2006 21:57 Forum: Eurocup News

Update 13 March:

Offcourse the 45%, 55% and the 5% that goes on to the next level are for each class! (Master Men, Master Women, Open Men, Open Women, Kiddy's, Junior's)

So from team A 45% of the Masters, 45% of the opens and so on goes to the final rounds.

The remaining 55% of each class goes on to the losers round

Then the best 5% of each class has the chance to get into the finals by the loosers round.

Update 16-02-2006:

After speaking some riders we have decided to modify the racing system as the got an point with their remarks. The remarks where that it could be possibile for an rider that he can be go home after 2 races as this was the maximum of races if you did not qualify for the half finals. Due this we changed the racing system to an better solution so that you allways ride at least 3 races and if you qualify 4 or 5 races (depends on the weather and wind).

The racing system is now not anymore an knockout system but we will when there are enough starters again divide all riders into 2 groups and there will also be mixed: Master, Open, Junior, Kiddy & Women in each group. Each group will ride 2 races and after the 2 races the best 45% will go on to the half finals or finals (depends on the wind and time).

When both groups have done their 2 races then 45% of each group will form an new group, now the 55% from both groups that are over will have an loser race where the best 10% will be able to get an final chance to get in the half finals or finals.

After this there will be 1 (finals) or maybe 2 (half finals, finals) races and from this we get the 1,2 & 3 for each class rider.

We hope on this way the riders will have more races and so more fun. When the weather is verry good then we will maybe decide that we don't hold 2 races for eacht group but then 3 so there is even more runs to do then.

If you have questions about this please email us at info@kitebuggy-eurocups.org

Racing system Explanation 10-Aug-2005 18:38 Forum: Eurocup News

Hi as we promised we will try to explain the racing system.
First of all open the attachment in this message in an extra window and hold it next to the message.

It's quite complex to understand it but we will try to explain as good as possible. The system used will be an Knockout system and this can mean that an rider is after 2 races out of the event (not the whole serie's).

For this example we used the Open class who drives together with the Open women, Junior and the Kiddy's. This is done as experiance in other races we know that the Masterclass is to hard for the Junior & kiddy's to drive as the competition there is verry high.
In this class you see (The red A) we have 60 Open starter, 10 Open Women, 6 Junior & 6 Kiddy's. They are going to be diveded into 2 groups who will race apart from eachother (Red B & C) from this race will 50% advance to the next round (Red E) and will always be in the favorit of the driver if it is an un-equal dividing. The rest of the riders will hold an losers round (Red D) from this round only 15% (**Note 1) will have the chance to advance to the next round (Red E). Here they all drive the race ad will advance if the situation makes it possible to drive an second race (Red F).

After that we will have final results for the event and there will be an 1,2 & 3 th place winner of each class.
Now for the Eurocups its self the riders will collect pointage the one in his class with the lowest pointage will be after 3 events the Eurocups winner for that class.
Point are collected on the races: A, B&C, E , F and the race D wont give any points. There will be the normal pointage system be used so No1 get 0 point No2 get 2 points and so on.
When an rider dont make it to the races E and F he will get for missing these races the maximum points.

An race can only be valid only if the races B,C,D,E are held for an event result but if only B & C are held then there wont be an event winner but the result will count for the Eurocups total.
The race F is an optional race as we must have good conditions and tight time planning to make thiss possible. When this is not possible the race F will be skipped .

I hope this makes it an little bit more easy to understandable how this racing system works.
When not feel free to ask here or by email ( info@kitebuggy-eurocups.org ).

Thanks for reading
